Keurig B60 Reviews | A Look at the Keurig Single Cup Coffee Maker
The Keurig Single Cup coffee maker is by far the most popular single-serve coffee system on the market right now. But as I keep saying here at The Espresso Fanatic, you cannot truly determine the quality of a machine until you test it yourself.
This article provides an in-depth look at how well the Keurig Special Edition brewing system (B60 model) works so you can make an informed decision before you buy it.
I have included product information, close-up photos, and Keurig B60 reviews. If you’re interested in purchasing this product, at the end of the article, I show you where to get the best deal when you buy the Keurig B60 online.

My Keurig B60 Review
But if you’re someone that needs to be emotionally connected with every aspect of the coffee making process (e.g. grinding, getting the right brewing temperature, etc.) then you will probably not get along with the Keurig.
And the Keurig will probably not get along with you either
In regards to its appearance, the Keurig special edition brewing system is probably the classiest single-serve machine I’ve seen.
With a chrome plated exterior and blue LED lights, it really stands out in any kitchen. Although it has quite a few plastic components, it is solidly built, and looks like it will last a while if looked after properly.
But of course, appearance is one thing. How well does the machine actually work?
Brewing Coffee on the Keurig Single Cup Coffee Maker
To brew coffee on the Keurig, you first have to prime the machine. This is done by pressing the “on” button (naturally). The priming period only takes about 4 minutes, and is required to ensure the machines achieves the correct brewing temperature. The heating light will be illuminated throughout the priming process, and when the machine is done warming up, the light will turn off.
To brew a cup of coffee, you just select your desired K-cup, open the machine by lifting the handle, and insert the K-cup into the K-cup chamber. Than you close up the machine, and start the brewing process by selecting what size cup you want. Immediately the machine goes into action, brewing your cup of coffee within 30 seconds.
Now what I really like about this Keurig single cup coffee maker, is that you have a choice in brewing sizes. You can brew enough coffee for either a small, medium, or large cup.
For instance, on my way to work in the morning, I brew the largest size for my travel mug. But if it’s a Saturday afternoon and I need just a quick fix of caffeine, then I’ll brew a small cup. I know its a small feature that many of you probably wouldn’t care about – but I liked having this choice.
Assessing the Beverage Quality
One of the things that struck me right away, is that the Keurig special edition brewing system is a very advanced single serve coffee system. It displays the brewing temperature, and even lets you program exactly what temperature you want to brew at (between 187 and 192 degrees).
I recommend keeping it at the highest temperature for coffee, but if you want your tea a bit less hot, then you could move it down to 187 degrees.
As far as taste goes, I don’t have many complaints about the Keurig. It can produce a full-bodied cup of coffee, rich in taste and full of aroma. It is far superior to most coffee machines under $100 and even some lower level coffee shops.
In terms of selection, you have a huge range of K Cups to choose from. Anything from different blends to different flavors, and even different beverages (you can buy tea or hot chocolate as well). I would recommend getting a sampler pack to start so you can try a number of flavors before your settle on one or two of your favorites.
The only drawback in terms of drink selection, is that you can’t make specialty coffee beverages with the Keurig single cup coffee maker. And other Keurig B60 reviews have drawn attention to this as well, but the machine doesn’t generate foam for lattes or cappuccinos. This is one thing that the Bosch Tassimo system excels in as the Tassimo can produce specialty coffee (though you have a far more limited coffee selection).
Great Programming Capabilities
I thought I’d make a special section in my Keurig B60 review for this, as I think programming is one of the key features of the Keurig special edition brewing system.
The machine comes with a clock that you can set. Now this clock does more than just display the time (which is pretty cool anyways). It also allows you to pre-program the machine to automatically warm up at a certain time. That way the machine can be ready to go in the morning before you wake up. If you load the K cup the night before, all you have to do in the morning is press the brew button, and you get a full cup of coffee within 30 seconds.
What Other Customer Say: Other Keurig B60 Reviews
As always, I did a bit of research about the Keurig special edition brewing system before writing this review to find out what others think about this machine. Most of the Keurig B60 reviews highlighted this machine’s superior technology and programming features.
I have included excerpts from these Keurig B60 reviews below:
“I got this model as a birthday gift 5+ years ago. I have used to daily ever since. It great if I just want a fresh cup of coffee at night or one in the morning.” Evan Galatz, Amazon.com
“KEURIG’S CUSTOMER SERVICE ALONE MAKES THIS A BEST BUY. If you have ANY problems, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Keurig operators are at the ready. I once called them at midnight because I thought I was having an issue setting up the machine.” Dark Knight, Amazon.com.
“Extra Bold coffees, in particular, offer coffee-house strength, ample body and plentiful aromas, and especially so when brewed at smaller brew volumes.” Bloggle.com.
The Keurig Special Edition brewing system is one of the best single-serve coffee makers on the market. It offers advanced brewing capabilities, a sleek appearance, and a wide coffee selection. However, if you’re looking to produce specialty coffee beverages, than this machine is not for you, since it has no milk frothing capabilities.
If you’re sick of drinking instant coffee or shelling out money at a coffee house, then the Keurig single cup coffee maker would make a great investment. Although it’s price tag can be a bit high for people (retails for $299), it can provide you with years of use.
Where To Buy The Keurig Coffee Maker
I just wanted to let everyone know that Amazon is offering an incredible deal on the Keurig B60 Special Edition Model. You can buy it for $132.99, which is 53% off the regular price. And because its over Amazon’s shipping threshold, you can get it shipped to your door for F.R.E.E.
And here’s a quick tip if you’re still on the fence: Amazon offers a 30-day return policy on all of its coffee makers. This means you can try it out first, and if you don’t like it, you can return it for a full refund. And since you don’t pay to have it shipped to you, there’s virtually no risk in trying it.
If there was ever a time to get a premium quality single-serve coffee maker, this is it.
